June Bug was my second custom. She was done for an Ugly Custom contest put on by the 'Two Angry Ponies' club on Yahoo. She began her life as a Pony Bride with frizzy and matted hair. I removed the symbols and painted her with orange poster paint stripes, much like the Color Swirl Ponies. Then, I took sections of her mane and tail and braided in glow in the dark hair, other sections received rows of glowing barrel beads. Two salmon coloured feathers adorned her tail, a third one topped off a string of glowing beads in her mane. Each feather had a row of glow in the dark paint dots along either side. Glow in the dark paint was spattered through her mane and tail to look like 'stars in the night sky'. This same glowing paint was also used to paint her eyes, 'earrings', blaze, muzzle and part of her symbol which looked like a fluorescent pink squashed bug with glow in the dark wings. Sure, she sounds pretty ugly, but she started to grow on me so much that I almost didn't want to give her up to her new owner. ^_^

The pink 'splotches' on her rump are actually fluorescent pink, winged bugs with a second set of glowing wings. They were supposed to be flying bugs...they turned out looking more like squashed bugs though.
